چکیده

We study the entanglement dynamics in the externally-driven single-mode Dicke model in the thermodynamic limit, when the field is in resonance with the atoms. We compute the correlations in the atoms-field ground state by means of the density operator that represents the pure state of the universe and the reduced density operator for the atoms, which results from taking the partial trace over the field coordinates. As a measure of bipartite entanglement, we calculate the linear entropy, from which we analyze the entanglement dynamics. In particular, we found a strong relation between the stability of the dynamical parameters and the reported entanglement. To appear in Journal of Physics: Conference Series

Superradiant to subradiant phase transition in the open system Dicke model: Dark state cascades

Collectivity in ensembles of atoms gives rise to effects like superand subradiance. While superradiance is well studied and experimentally accessible, subradiance remains elusive since it is difficult to track experimentally as well as theoretically. Here we present a new type of phase transition in the resonantly driven, open Dicke model that leads to a deterministic generation of subradiant s...

Quantum Criticality in the Biased Dicke Model

The biased Dicke model describes a system of biased two-level atoms coupled to a bosonic field, and is expected to produce new phenomena that are not present in the original Dicke model. In this paper, we study the critical properties of the biased Dicke model in the classical oscillator limits. For the finite-biased case in this limit, We present analytical results demonstrating that the excit...

The Dicke model in quantum optics: Dicke model revisited.

A short review of recent developments of the Dicke model in quantum optics is presented. The focus is on the model in a cavity at zero temperature and in the rotating wave approximation. Topics discussed include spectroscopic structures, the giant quantum oscillator, entanglement and phase transitions.

Experimental entanglement of a six-photon symmetric Dicke state.

We report on the experimental observation and characterization of a six-photon entangled Dicke state. We obtain a fidelity as high as 0.654+/-0.024 and prove genuine six-photon entanglement by, amongst others, a two-setting witness yielding -0.422+/-0.148. This state has remarkable properties; e.g., it allows obtaining inequivalent entangled states of a lower qubit number via projective measure...

Dicke model: Entanglement as a finite size effect

We analyze the Dicke model at zero temperature by matrix diagonalization to determine the entanglement in the ground state. In the infinite system limit the mean field approximation predicts a quantum phase transition from a non-interacting state to a BoseEinstein condensate at a threshold coupling. We show that in a finite system the spin part of the ground state is a bipartite entangled state...
